About the event
We are honored to announce the 10th Annual Cardboard City: Battle of the Builders, taking place October 24-25, 2025 - a 24-hour event over two days, from noon on Friday through noon on Saturday - dedicated to raising awareness about homelessness and generating critical funds to support housing efforts in Manitowoc County. This event includes a cardboard house building competition, food trucks Friday at 4pm, speakers and live music Friday evening! Let's Build Hope Together
This event raises critical funds for safe shelter, support, and long-term housing. Proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity, Hope House and The Haven.
Will you be our Cardboard City CHAMPION? Build your cardboard structure with your family, a team from your workplace, or come to watch the fun and raise awareness about homelessness. One team member must stay overnight in their structure to qualify for judging.
Friday 10/24
12:00 pm Building competition begins
4:45 pm Welcome with Mayor Justin Nickels
5:00 pm Live music & speakers, games, socialize
10:00 pm (Optional) Sleep overnight in your tent, cardboard shelter or car
